Ben is a solicitor in Aitken Whyte Lawyers’ Gold Coast criminal law, traffic and drink driving practice. He completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Peace and Conflict Studies) at the University of Queensland and completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University. Ben is admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Ben appears in all levels of Queensland Courts and is experienced in finalising matters at the Magistrates’ Court and handling indictable matters before the District and Supreme Courts. He is acutely aware that the issues which face criminal defendants often involve social disadvantage, mental health and addiction and is sensitive to these factors while working to defend his clients’ rights and integrity.
Prior to working as a criminal defence lawyer, Ben worked at the International Criminal Court and International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, both based in The Hague, Netherlands. He also has experience as an Associate at the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
Ben is approachable, compassionate and available to talk through any and all queries or issues that our clients may be experiencing. He provides advice in clear and understandable terms. Ben is able to effectively communicate to the Courts and his clients alike.
